God, I hate Jay-Z

Before I get to a real post, I thought I would mention how much I hate Jay-Z. And Jon Fitch. (See below.)

Beyonce is pregnant and it's all over the news which is the reason for this post.

When I was in college, almost a hundred years ago, rap was in its infancy. There was iambic pentameter. There was rhyme. There was rhythm, and there was a story. It was a new form of music that was magical. Wendy and I actually danced to it the other night with lyrics of: “Superman has come to town, to see who he could rock. His speakers were three stories high, his woofers made of steel, he blew away every crew he faced until he reached our block!”

Notice that there is no mention of bitches and ho’s.

Jay-Z is a “rapper” and somehow, has made a fortune being one and now has impregnated the beautiful Beyonce.

Beyonce is amazing. She has the voice of a goddess. Her dancing evokes passion. And yet, when I see her, I have a rough time not remembering that she is with that idiot Jay-Z.

She has made a couple of songs with him, and they have been ruined by his idiocy. She will start to sing, you hear the voice of an angel and then you hear him “singing” which sounds like a pig having sex.

“Ugh! Ugh! Yeah baby, Ugh!”

Insert voice of an angel again.

Ugh! Ugh! Yeah. Ugh!

Could you shut up? Seriously, there is a beautiful voice here and you are ruining the entire song with your grunting which you seem to think is music.

Despite the fact that my last two posts have been negative, I am in a state of bliss right now. I am extremely happy with my life and everything about it. Today is just a lazy Sunday and I am venting.

    Anon,

    To the best of my knowledge, rap is a form of music, hip hop is a culture of which rap is part and parcel but not the whole. DJ-ing/scratching, b-boying, and tagging/graffiti are also uniformly hip hop.

    I would hate Jay-Z even if he made good music. But since he doesn't but is still way richer and more successful than me and banging Beyonce to boot, yeah. Fuck him.

Greed and the One Percenters

It is baffling, and sad, to me that part of the world thinks that profit > all, even at the expense of human dignity.  It gnaws at me every day when I go to a chain gas station or a McDonalds or any other place where I know corporate profits are > everything else in the world. Why can't McDonald's pays its workers more? We all know they can. We all can pay a dime more for a Big Mac. It's like this everywhere. Magic

Wendy and I have just had a long talk. I am getting back into Magic and making a run for the title. My goal this time isn't going to be to get back on the Pro Tour, but to win a Pro Tour. Secret Force: Quest for the Pro Tour II will be available in early June. The reason for this is I need to proof the physical copy of the book that is sent to my house in Vermont and we will be there June 2nd. I will be playing Magic Online until we go home then playing physically anywhere I can find a game while there. When we return to Spain in September I will be playing at a local shop a half kilometer away and writing about playing Spanish Magic with a limited vocabulary.
