"You sound awful. Stay away from me."

Remember when you were a kid and you get to stay home when you were sick? How many days of school did you miss?

I remember one.

When you were sick, you were better the next day. Not so with today's new SUPER VIRUSES! YAY! I can't remember the last time I was sick for one day (other than a hangover.) No one I know gets sick for one day.

It's clear that soon we will be living in a post apocalyptic Hell akin to Stephen King's "The Stand" or Richard Matheson's "I am Legend." Yes, the flu keeps getting stronger and now lasts weeks instead of a day. I'm on day 6 right now and can't wait for this damn thing to be over. I'm sick of waking up in a pile of snot. I'm sick of feeling like someone has stuffed forty pounds of cotton candy between my ears. I'm sick of coughing.

Thankfully, I have yet to shoot liquid out of both ends as illustrated by my classy Spanish teacher. Thank God for that.

Time for another Hot Toddy.

    Keep as warm as you can. The bugs don't like the heat (which is why the body goes into a fever) and reproduce slower if you're really hot. Ample liquids and doses of vitamins, garlic and onion, for feeding your immune system, are also advised. Good luck with that.

Greed and the One Percenters

It is baffling, and sad, to me that part of the world thinks that profit > all, even at the expense of human dignity.  It gnaws at me every day when I go to a chain gas station or a McDonalds or any other place where I know corporate profits are > everything else in the world. Why can't McDonald's pays its workers more? We all know they can. We all can pay a dime more for a Big Mac. It's like this everywhere. In the UFC, Dana White was brilliant at bringing the sport to mainstream America and generating hundreds of millions of dollars for the Fertitta brothers, who were already billionaires. And even though they could pay their fighters more, they don't. The last payroll for the last event was under a million dollars. The UFC is like the NFL of fighting. The number one organization. Magic

Wendy and I have just had a long talk. I am getting back into Magic and making a run for the title. My goal this time isn't going to be to get back on the Pro Tour, but to win a Pro Tour. Secret Force: Quest for the Pro Tour II will be available in early June. The reason for this is I need to proof the physical copy of the book that is sent to my house in Vermont and we will be there June 2nd. I will be playing Magic Online until we go home then playing physically anywhere I can find a game while there. When we return to Spain in September I will be playing at a local shop a half kilometer away and writing about playing Spanish Magic with a limited vocabulary.
